The ninth edition of Vogue Adria has arrived

The new, ninth issue of Vogue Adria, available from today at newsstands and in our webshop, is dedicated to December — a month wrapped in the glittering veil of the holidays — and all its visible and subtle nuances, smiles, splendor, and togetherness. It serves as a reminder that beauty lies in imperfections and in all the emotions we carry with us, wherever we may be.

In a special Christmas feature set in the stunning ambiance of Beli Dvor, seven successful and self-assured women — Zdenka Kovačiček, Jasna Đuričić, Branka Katić, Sonja Vukićević, Tihana Lazović, Đurđa Stojiljković, and Le Filip — took on roles crafted specifically for them, telling the story of a Christmas dinner, each from her own perspective. On the other hand, the story What Do You Bring to the Table uniquely explored the theme of togetherness — showcasing a dinner created by everyone contributing as much as they can, making the holiday gathering truly perfect.

Some of the most prominent writers from the region have penned letters to the departing year, reflecting on everything they gained, lost, changed, and, ultimately, what remained the same. To help us step into the new year with at least a glimpse of what lies ahead, experts in literature, film, design, music, and contemporary art have shared their predictions for the next 365 days.

At a time when we all reevaluate our achievements, contemplate our desires for the future, and more or less make resolutions we hope will change our lives, the legend of the Croatian and regional music scene, Zdenka Kovačiček, has gifted us with 80 life lessons she has gathered over her 80 years. These pieces of advice for a good life are worth keeping close at hand, like a cheat sheet for navigating life.

Journalist, editor, and writer Andrija Škare wrote about why gossiping, which we often engage in during everyday life and especially during the holidays (when we spend more time in company), isn’t a sin or a flaw to be ashamed of but rather a social glue that brings us closer together.

Writer Damir Karakaš and director Bruno Anković discussed their collaborative film Proslava (The Celebration), which doesn’t feature much actual celebrating but carries the promise that good will prevail, no matter how impossible it may seem—a message that is undoubtedly something we all need.
